NEW MEXICO PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT PARTNERSHIP

In 2019, we established a partnership with the New Mexico Public Education Department to be the exclusive Spanish language proficiency assessment partner for the state. Other than Utah, New Mexico is the only state in the country that offers state funding for Bilingual Programs. The new assessment adoption will provide feedback for bilingual educators, allow schools and districts to benchmark students at each grade level, and inform teaching in real-time to improve learning outcomes.

Below is a mini video series we created to highlight how Avant Assessment has been helping Albuquerque Public Schools and why language assessment is so important!

ASIA SOCIETY PARTNERSHIP

In 2020, the Asia Society partnered with Avant Assessment to provide its Chinese Language Partner Schools with access to Avant’s STAMP Chinese Language proficiency assessments and its MORE learning courses for teachers. This partnership will also offer students the chance to earn recognition for their language skills by giving them the opportunity to qualify for the State or Global Seals of Biliteracy. This is an important opportunity for students to have the ability to continue their language journey at home during this critical period.

NATIONAL AFRICAN LANGUAGE RESOURCE CENTER PARTNERSHIP

Avant Assessment recently partnered with the National African Language Resource Center (NALRC) at Indiana University Bloomington to provide STAMP language assessments in Swahili and Yoruba. This partnership is incredibly valuable for students, as there wasn’t a previous former mechanism for testing student proficiency in these languages. The students can now be offered recognition for demonstrating high levels of language fluency and the opportunity to qualify for their State Seals or the Global Seal of Biliteracy.

Our office and support will be closed December 22-25 and January 1
